Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese practice that promotes stress reduction and relaxation. It involves the gentle laying of hands in traditional positions to encourage the flow of energy through the body, leading to less pain and blockages and more balance.
The benefits to cancer survivors currently undergoing treatment and simultaneously receiving Reiki have been studied both anecdotally and empirically. The studies show that while Reiki cannot replace a doctor-prescribed treatment plan, it can provide significant healing support, which in turn relieves pain, reduces stress, and raises quality of life. Many hospitals are now offering Reiki to patients undergoing cancer treatment as a compliment to medical treatments.
At Ann’s Place, we offer Reiki appointments Monday through Friday, and reserve priority to clients who are currently undergoing treatment. It has become one of the more popular wellness services that we offer, and all of our Reiki providers have obtained the Master level of training.
