Why do we write memoirs? To recall and preserve memories, to pass forward a personal message, or family history, or a story about an experience or achievement. To remember who loved us and who we loved in return. As a memoirist, or aspiring memoirist, first and foremost our job is to remember, to write or offer an oral memory. We needn’t be our own editors or critics. It’s not about structure, grammar, spelling, or cleverness. It’s about reflecting, receiving, resounding, and simply enjoying. Come and listen and participate when ready.
