BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
PREPPING #3 SAW MILL ROAD!

February 2008

Once again, Connecticut Concrete Corporation has been instrumental in moving our project forward. With their donation of an entire flatwork crew and pump truck the foundation slab is complete!

Berlin Steel's donation of all the steel columns and beams, A Quick-Pick Crane Service, Inc.'s donation of a crane and the International Association of Bridge, Structural & Ornamental Iron Workers-Local 424's donation of iron workers completes the entire structural steel phase.

The Connecticut Carpenters Apprentice and Training Fund's donation of apprentice carpenters has enabled us to physically see the fruits of their labor. The first floor framing is 95% complete and we are currently in th process of installing the second floor decking; with the roof trusses scheduled to go up in the next month or so.

Contractors, labor leaders and the building committee gather to celebrate the groundbreaking on Saw Mill Road.

The Morganti Group, Inc. (Construction Management Division) is supervising construction planning and scheduling, which also represents a generous donation to the agency.  This diverse team concept represents a broad cross-section of the trades industry.

Basia Pontello, our Construction Coordinator, stops to chat with Tim Gunn and Ed Barrett of The Morganti Group at the Construction Trades Groundbreaking Breakfast. To inquire about participating with materials donations, contact Basia at (203) 733-5739.
